Our wedding was wonderful because it combined it encompassed two different themes- ‘Love is in the Air’ and ‘Victorian Chic.’ Yes, from the outside, it sounds like an odd pairing of two unique themes, but the blending of and execution by our team was great! My husband is a pilot in the Air Force, and our love story started while he was in pilot training down in Texas. I suppose I embraced the lifestyle because I became fascinated by the old WWII era planes and iconic images of pinup girls and handsome pilots in their leather jackets. I also have a huge love for flowers and Victorian style gardens, and the idea of incorporating them together using my grandparents’ amazing backyard and gardens began to take a hold of me and our wedding planners. So alas, that is how our theme began to develop.
We had Serenity do a special Air Mail invitation for our big day! Even the previous night, our rehearsal dinner was in the Frontiers of Flight airplane museum.
Our guests absolutely loved the venue and the attention to detail that our wedding team worked so hard on. From the pilot themed officer’s lounge with its leather armchairs and sofas, professional cigar roller, and scotch and whiskey bar, to the beautiful Victorian garden themed floral arrangements and large flower and silk lined gazebos with chandeliers- it was absolutely amazing. My wonderfully talented aunt even did the photo booth cutouts that guests popped their heads out of to take their picture. Keeping with the theme, they were painted to look like a vintage WWII pinup girl and an iconic war bonds image of a fighter pilot.
Clearly I’m biased, but it was absolutely beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a more magical experience with so many family and friends all in one place!
