The Skinny on Tights

Tights have become super popular this year. No longer are tights only for children, but for adults too. And what better way to extend this new found right other than to flaunt these babies on your wedding day. Some chilly weddings are coming up and it’s time to prepare. Whether you want to sneak some fun tights under your dress or relieve the bridesmaids and allow them to warm their chilled legs, I feel as if tights should no longer be an option, they should be mandatory.

So let’s break some options down.

Starting off with white, because I mean you are the bride and like you wear white (normally (not sure why I am doing anything that’s usual (do I use too many parentheses? (this now looks like a really scary math equation (okay I’m done)))))).

Anyways … white may be a “safe” color, but I believe it is also a classic color and you can’t go wrong with it. However to add a little spunk, choose some that have beading, polka dots, rhinestones, bows, or even a cute “I DO” phrase to turn the simple white into statement tights.

Next is Black (or any color, seriously)

Black and white tights may be all the rage now, but don’t be afraid to swap any of these designs with your wedding colors. (because bright obnoxious colors are also the bee’s knees)

Here again, we have bows, polka dots, and beading. But, there are also skulls and patterns. Personally I am totally obsessed with these skull tights because they seem so opposite of what someone would normally wear. (maybe that is just the hipster in me, oh wait did I just acknowledge that…agh…)

But yea …..This pattern is stellar, yet it is definitely not the only option as far as patterns go. Chevron is also huge right now, and I can see why, because you can match it with other patterns seamlessly, it’s modern, fun,  and last but not least you can easily incorporate your own touch.

I guess this category could be called ETC because I really don’t know what else to call it. This section is full of fun tights that are sure to add some excitement to your wedding. Ombre is super trendy right now and is a great way to combine a classic black with one of your wedding colors. Or even mix two. Also if you like this wedding invite you are sure to enjoy the tights with the little town on them. Likewise, I completely adore the sheer tights with the gold accents. It is a subtle touch that adds the perfect amount of vibrancy.

Now we’re done with tights for you, and well we’re moving onto your bridesmaids. I’m all about doing creative things with bridesmaids attire from funky shoes to different style dresses; and naturally fun tights go along with that. There are many options: have the girls wear the same dress and different style tights, different dresses and the same tights, plain color dress and colored tights…the options are endless. But nonetheless they are all awesome.

When I started writing this post, I never thought it would amount to this. Never underestimate the power of tights. They sure know how to fill the presence of a blog post. And I believe you sure know how to rock them. So whether you’re attending someone’s wedding, your wedding, or you’re in the wedding, WEAR SOME DANG TIGHTS DAGUMIT.
