With Thanksgiving over, we can officially begin the countdown to Christmas! There are so many great things about preparing for Christmas. I think my favorites are a toss up between Christmas lights and cookies. Maybe your favorite Christmas tradition is singing music around the tree or sipping hot coco by the fire. We may not all enjoy every tradition, but one thing we can all agree on is that holiday parties are a must. So today’s post is dedicated to different ways that you all can celebrate the holidays with your friends and family!
Obviously the most important Christmas party is the Ugly Sweater party! This has become crazy popular so you better head to the nearest Goodwill and snatch your sweater up! If that fails, dig through your mom’s old sweaters; you’re sure to find something.
Another one of my favorite traditions naturally includes food of course and that would be a cookie swap. Invite the neighbors over to bring their favorite family cookie and then you get to eat 5 times as many cookies and do a fifth less of the work.
This idea is for the wrapper in the family. Forget wrapping presents in the back bedroom and suffering from paper cuts all alone! Invite all your other lucky friends who have lots to wrap and make a party out of it! Who said wrapping gifts had to be a chore?
If you aren’t a big fan of social gatherings, then maybe a movie marathon is more your thing. Stock up on the Christmas classics, popcorn, candy, and eggnog and you are set!
Secret Santa is also a great way to get all of your friends together for the Holidays. Personally it’s my favorite way to exchange gifts because it saves me a lot of money and I’m not left feeling guilty that I didn’t get everyone I know a gift.
Another cheap way to give gifts in a fun way is Rob Your Neighbor. Whether you throw in a few fancy presents or just stick to gag gifts, it is sure to provide lots of entertainment. Beware though, Rob Your Neighbor can bring out the worst in the best people! 😉
Cookies and gifts aside, who doesn’t look a good holiday cocktail? There are so many options out there, so why not have a party dedicated to trying a few or 15?
Even if you despise the unwelcomed Christmas carolers that show up at your door, it doesn’t mean you can’t invite your friends over some Christmas “Carolokee”! These days you can pick up a cheap microphone and speaker at Target or Walmart and it will be well worth the money after all the laughs that will accompany the singing.
I hope you all enjoyed our favorite holiday party ideas! We are already taking part in the Christmas Movie Marathon! 🙂
