Halloween is becoming a more and more popular day to get married. Couples loves the fun of having a costume party for a reception, the spookiness of a dark holiday, all mixed with a newly bound romance. I don’t think I need to sit here and tell you guys why to have a Hallowedding, but instead I can just share some awesome ideas on how to make your Hallowedding spooky, chic, and fun!
As we all know, Halloween falls in my favorite season (no pun intended). There are so many beautiful things about fall that transition into Halloween as well. My favorite thing is pumpkins. Whether your preference is to carve them or decorate them, who doesn’t enjoy going to the pumpkin patch (or you know local grocery store patch) and picking out the perfect pumpkin?! I personally think it is necessary to incorporate pumpkins into a Hallowedding. There are so many different ways to decorate them, you can definitely find one that will tie into the twist on your wedding. For a more classical Halloween wedding, I find the idea of using pumpkins as vases marvelously. I also love them for lining pathways, whether they are hanging or just set on the ground. For a more spooky twist, I love the idea of putting fishnets over a white pumpkin. It is creepy and chic at the same time. If you don’t want to decorate with pumpkins, consider using them for name cards or favors.
My favorite palate for a Halloween wedding is classic black and white with a touch of red. In my opinion, it tones down the cheesiness that can sometimes take over at a Hallowedding. Now I’m not saying tell your guests it’s a black tie event, but at least your simple, chic decorations won’t take away from anyone’s elaborate costume!
White and black flowers are a great way to tie in the colors, but don’t be afraid to mix in some deep red roses.
Have fun with the food and drinks. Get creative with fake blood on cocktail drinks or missing fingers for appetizers.
I love the spray painted silver vampire teeth as cardholders. I never thought that plastic teeth could ever look elegant, but you never know what a little bit of paint can do!
