Planning on saying your “I dos” near a beach? Well for one, I’m jealous…but secondly (more importantly) I am here to help you find your dress. Thinking about what you want to wear on your wedding day can be overwhelming when you throw in a beach scene. There are so many things to think about, like the sand and the water and just the mess in general that comes along with the beach. So I’ve put beach wedding dresses into three categories: flowing, lacy, and short. These are the most popular choices and we will talk about the pros and cons for each of these.
For staters let’s go with flowing dresses. Whenever you think of the beach, the wonderful breeze is probably one of the first things that comes to mind, right? Well what better way to mimic that marvelous breeze than with your wedding dress. The long flowing dress is great because not only does it move wonderfully in the breeze, but it’s also comfortable in the heat. It won’t be sticking to your body and it won’t be really heavy. However the flowing dresses are naturally longer and will get dirty from the sand; you can either accept this and just get over it, or you can look into my next category! 😉
If you’re too afraid to embrace the long dress for your beach wedding, get a short dress! They will stay cleaner, you’ll be cooler, and you’ll give off a much more relaxed vibe. Some people tend to be leery of the short dress because the long is so traditional, but you are getting married in a non-traditional place, so why not scrap the traditional dress too?
Now whether your dress is short or long, lace is a great option. Lace is so popular for beach weddings because of how beautiful it is and how light and airy it can be. It can be hung longer than the rest so you are able to see the lace detail or it can be done the opposite so the lace doesn’t get dirty. There are many ways to incorporate lace into your dress, so be sure to try it out! I’m sure you’ll fall in love right away.
I really hope these ideas have helped you to narrow in on your search for the right dress! If it were my choice, I would be wearing a long, lacy, flowing dress—I mean might as well go all out, right?
