Bohemian weddings aren’t for everyone, but if you’re looking for a relaxed, eclectic wedding, then they might just be for you! There are many possibilities to personalize a bohemian wedding and normally they are also eco friendly, which is a real plus! 🙂
One of my favorite parts of bohemian weddings are the style. I absolutely love the laid back, simplistic, thrown together looks. For girls, off-the-shoulder dresses, tied with a belt, loose, flowing dresses are spot on. Mixing different whites and light neutrals for the whole bridal party is another great way to add the bohemian flavor.
Flowers are another important key to bohemian weddings. Oversized bouquets and halo hair pieces are great ways to add in flowers. When making flower choices, make sure you add in a good variety. You want pretty and a little overgrown as well. For example, wild flowers and chrysanthemums or peonies!
When looking at men’s fashion for a bohemian styled wedding, there are some pretty obvious trends. Rolled up khakis and suit coats with elbow pads are two very popular ideas. Suspenders are another fun idea! As far as shoes are concerned, you can’t go wrong with boots or high top chukkas.
Continuing on into decorating for the reception, flowers and greenery should be strewn throughout tables and stashed in vases. Candles are another way to add in bohemian spice and ambiance at the same time. If candles aren’t an option, try stringed lights. And of course, last, but not least, hosting the reception outside is a must! Unless you can find the perfect bohemian venue, go for outside! (It is great for the bohemian theme and totally in the budget).
The last thing really popular thing I found when researching bohemian weddings, was that many couples choose to set up scenes for pictures. There were so many cute ideas, so I picked a few of my favorites to show you all. I’m totally loving the swing idea, but not sure how practical this is to recreate. I think one of the most common themes in Bohemian weddings is this idea of comfort, so setting up a little cozy sitting area can double as a great photo op.
I hope you guys enjoyed checking out these awesome Bohemian wedding ideas. I know I enjoyed writing this post! 🙂 If you had your own Bohemian wedding, please share, we’d love to hear about it! 🙂
